The registry is considered to be the heart of the operating system and the most important element of it. That's because all the system settings are stored in the registry, together with driver settings and file references. This is why a healthy registry means a healthy operating system. Installing and uninstalling a lot of applications can leave a lot of obsolete registry keys behind. These keys can become more and more over time if nothing is done to clean them, and they can make the system run slower and more unstable and even to crash for good.

That's why it's important to use applications like Registry Commander. You can guess what the program is about by looking at its name. But the name doesn't suggest you how easy it is to use this program. That's why you should see it to believe it. You can start by installing the program. Speaking about simpleness, you will notice that the interface of Registry Commander can be used by anyone, as it features intuitive graphical buttons and various tabs.

When run, the program will automatically scan the registry and will clearly display all found errors, organized according to their type. After that, the user can choose to fix them all or to fix only some of them. But cleaning the registry is not the only function of Registry Commander, as the software can also optimize it. An optimized registry will result in an increase in system performance and stability. It's a process similar to the one of defragmenting hard disk partitions.

It is advisable to back up the registry before scanning it for errors, to be able to restore it in case a wrong key gets deleted and certain programs fail to function correctly. Registry Commander has two modes of backing up the registry, partial and full.

The settings option of Registry Commander allows selecting which part of the registry should be scanned for errors. Besides that, certain keys can be excluded from the scan. From the same section, the user can schedule a scan to perform at a certain hour or day, thus making sure that the registry will be always clean.

Pros

It can remove every obsolete key from the registry and can also optimize it, increasing system performance and stability. Besides that, registry scans can be scheduled to perform at a certain hour or day.

Cons

The trial version can only fix a part of the registry errors detected. Registry Commander is a useful registry utility that manages to remove all the broken keys from it, making the system run better and faster.
